My name is Cora and I am a Registered Pelvic Health and Orthopedic Physiotherapist. I currently practice out of my own clinic called Lumira Pelvic Health & Wellness in Burlington, Ontario. I am delighted to bring a diverse, interdisciplinary team of practitioners to this fabulous clinic!
I received my Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University, where I also completed my undergraduate degree, majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Anthropology. While in school, I worked as a research assistant, studying bone electron microscopy, and helped author a paper for one of the PhD candidates in the program.
Throughout my career, I’ve maintained a special focus in pelvic health, manual therapy, running-related injuries, acupuncture, and therapeutic taping. I continue to take all kinds of courses that advance my knowledge and skills in treating urinary and bowel incontinence, acute and persistent pain, running-related injuries, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive or weak pelvic floor muscles, and much more! I am also quite passionate about providing pre- and postnatal care to new mums!
Being a knowledge junkie certainly has it’s advantages, for instance, I love being able to treat patients using a variety of different skillsets that cater to individual needs. I have worked extensively with people from all walks of life to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes. As an evidence-based practitioner, I work closely with each patient to set precise goals and customize unique treatment plans, using the best methods supported by high-quality clinical research. I have to say, there is no better feeling than helping someone achieve a desired outcome!
So that’s me… in a nutshell 🙂
